How to get to Kuta Lombok

From Lombok International Airport

Lombok International Airport (LOP), near Praya, is about 30 minutes by car from Kuta. There are taxi counters in the arrivals hall, and ride-hailing apps work in the area. Many guests prefer to book a driver in advance so someone is waiting with a sign.

From Bali

There are three common ways to cross from Bali.

  • By plane: Bali (DPS) to Lombok (LOP) is a short flight of about 40 minutes, then about 30 minutes by car to Kuta. Usually the quickest door to door.
  • By fast boat: boats from Bali usually stop at the Gili islands and then arrive in the north of Lombok, about two hours by car from Kuta.
  • By public ferry: the slow ferry from Padang Bai to Lembar takes several hours; from Lembar it is roughly an hour and a half by car to Kuta.

From the Gili islands

Take a public or private boat to Bangsal or Teluk Nare on the north coast of Lombok, then a car to Kuta. The drive is usually around two hours, sometimes more with traffic in Mataram.

Getting around once you arrive

Kuta is compact and La Casa Bonita is in the centre, about five minutes from the beach. For the beaches and villages outside town, most guests rent a scooter, which you can keep in the villa’s gated parking, or book a driver for the day.
