Things to do in Kuta Lombok
Kuta is small, but there is plenty to fill a week or more. These are the things our guests enjoy most, from easy days in town to half-day trips along the south coast.

In and around town
You can do all of these without going far from La Casa Bonita.
- Kuta beach and the Mandalika promenade, about five minutes from the villa.
- Cafés, warungs and restaurants for every budget, from Sasak food to brunch.
- Yoga studios and gyms, easy to fit in before the heat of the day.
- Watching the sunset with a fresh coconut on the beach.
Surf
The south coast is one of Indonesia’s best-known surf areas. Surf schools in town run lessons for beginners, often at Selong Belanak or the inside breaks of Gerupuk, and boats in Gerupuk take more experienced surfers to the outer reefs.
Half-day trips
With a scooter or a driver, these are easy to combine with a beach afternoon.
- Bukit Merese: a grassy hill next to Tanjung Aan, best at sunset.
- Tanjung Aan and Mawun: two of the calmest bays for swimming.
- Sade village: a traditional Sasak village north of Kuta, where locals show their houses and weaving.
- Gerupuk: watch the fishing boats and surfers in the bay.
The Mandalika circuit
The international racetrack sits right next to Kuta and hosts events such as MotoGP. On race weekends the area fills up quickly, so book early if you plan to go.
Days at the villa
Some days the best plan is staying in. La Casa Bonita has a private pool, a thatched pergola with a built-in sofa and a covered terrace for long lunches, so a slow day at home is never a lost day.
